A Message from Brouillet Principal, Beth Simpson:
Dear Bobcat Families,
This year Brouillet celebrates our 30th year of forming students into community members, arming them with rigorous, academic knowledge, and soaking them in our tradition of excellence. We continue in our mission to partner with our diverse community to educate and inspire students to reach their full potential and to become leaders that address the human needs of our time.
As we connect through remote learning, it is important that students attend their live sessions and engage in the asynchronous activities. Please continue to check in with your child daily and ask if they attended all their live sessions and did their daily classwork. Our teachers will be reaching out periodically with progress reports that are intended to communicate your child’s participation.
Parents, please remember public schools are required by law to take attendance. If you know that you will be missing a live session, please make sure to inform your child’s teacher via email. The teacher will need to mark your child absent if you communicate that you will be gone for the whole day; however, if a student watches a recorded session or works on posted lessons later in the day the teacher will be able to see this in the system and can reverse the absence for you.
We would especially like to thank families for the extra effort and flexibility while supporting their children and our unique educational settings in the 2020-2021 school year. We will continue to navigate the challenges that exist, move forward, and adjust as needed. We strongly encourage families to partner alongside each member of our Bobcat Family. We know participation will look very different with our online platforms and social distancing, so please reach out or watch for systems that will allow you to engage in our school’s climate and culture. Together, we can make sure that each child has what they need to be successful students.
Take care and please let us know if there is anything we can do.
Beth Simpson, Principal & Marlo Harmsen, Assistant Principal
